Over the course of more than 30 years, the ROCKWOOL Foundation Research Unit has published a series of studies of the everyday lives and conditions of the Danish people, and has recently expanded the scope of these studies to
includecomparative studies of conditions in selected countries.


In Welfare State and Population in Denmark, Germany and the UK, our aim is to outline developments since 1960 and present
astatus report on the welfare states in Denmark and our neighbours to the west and the south: the UK and Germany. The book
alsoprovides an overview of the everyday lives and living conditions of the Danish, British and German people at home and on the
labourmarket, in educational institutions and in public life.

This book is the second volume in a series that takes a comparative view of the welfare states of Northern Europe.
